I work at the intersection of conflict resolution and technology.

I am the Chairman and COO of, an online dispute resolution service provider in Silicon Valley, building ODR tools for arbitration, mediation, and negotiation. From 2003 to 2011 I was Director of Online Dispute Resolution at eBay and PayPal. I am a Fellow at the Gould Center for Conflict Resolution at Stanford Law School and I work closely with the National Center for Technology and Dispute Resolution at UMass-Amherst.

I've written two books on the subject: Online Dispute Resolution for Business and The New Handshake: Online Dispute Resolution and the Future of Consumer Protection.
